Fake Job Racket Busted in Delhi: Youth Duped Through ‘Job Hai’ App Scam

Shahdara, Delhi: The Cyber Police in Shahdara have uncovered a fake job scam that tricked several job seekers by offering them fake employment opportunities at well-known companies like Zepto. The scam was run through a fake app called Job Hai and a bogus placement firm named Treasure Find Solution.

The scam came to light when a 19-year-old from Bhola Nath Nagar saw a YouTube advertisement about the Job Hai app. He applied for a cashier’s job through the app and was soon contacted by a man pretending to be an HR executive named Kamal. The caller invited him to a walk-in interview at Nirman Vihar.

Over the next 10 days, the youth was made to pay ₹9,000 for various fake charges like registration, verification, and processing. When he refused to pay more, the scammers blocked all contact with him.

After the victim filed a complaint, the Cyber Police registered a case and began investigating under SHO Inspector Vijay Kumar and ACP Gurdev Singh. Through mobile tracking and technical surveillance, police identified the main accused as 30-year-old Rahul from Bahadurgarh, Haryana. He was running the fake agency with his wife Seema from a rented office in Nirman Vihar.

Rahul has been arrested, while Seema is currently on the run. During raids in Noida and Delhi, police recovered more than 100 resumes, Aadhaar cards, fake job documents, and a company stamp from the office.

Police revealed that Rahul has been involved in similar job frauds since 2011 and used multiple bank accounts and phone numbers to collect money from victims.

The Delhi Police have issued a warning to the public, urging everyone to verify job offers before making any payments. “Do not trust unverified job ads, apps, or QR codes. Always check the authenticity of recruitment agencies,” the police said in a statement.

Anyone who suspects online job fraud can report it by calling the Cyber Crime Helpline at 1930 or visiting www.cybercrime.gov.in.
