Cartier and The North Face Hit by Cyberattacks, Customer Data Exposed

Luxury fashion brand Cartier has confirmed a data breach that exposed some of its customers' personal information. The company notified affected customers, stating that hackers had broken into its systems and accessed limited customer data.

According to Cartier, the stolen information includes names, email addresses, and countries of residence. Fortunately, no sensitive financial or identification data was involved. However, the brand has warned customers to stay alert, as the stolen data could be used in targeted phishing attacks or scams.

"Given the nature of the data, we recommend that you remain alert for any unsolicited communications or suspicious correspondence," Cartier said in its statement.

The company has reported the breach to law enforcement and is working with a third-party cybersecurity firm to investigate and strengthen its systems.

Cartier is the latest in a growing list of fashion brands hit by cyberattacks. Adidas, Victoria's Secret, and Marks & Spencer have also faced similar incidents recently.

Meanwhile, The North Face, the outdoor clothing retailer, has also been affected by a cyberattack. The company reported that hackers used a method called credential stuffing—where stolen login details from previous breaches are used to access other accounts—to break into customer accounts on its website.

The breach, discovered on April 23, 2025, led to the exposure of full names, email addresses, shipping addresses, purchase history, phone numbers, and dates of birth.

The North Face has started notifying affected customers and advised them to change their passwords and monitor their accounts for any unusual activity.

These incidents highlight the growing threat of cyberattacks in the retail and fashion industry. Customers are urged to use strong, unique passwords and remain cautious about suspicious emails or messages.
