Victoria’s Secret Suspends Website and Some In-Store Services After Security Incident

Popular clothing and lingerie retailer Victoria’s Secret has temporarily shut down most features of its website and some in-store services after discovering a security issue.

The company posted a statement on its website Wednesday saying it was working to fix the problem. A spokesperson told Reuters that the company "immediately enacted our response protocols" and brought in outside experts to help. As a precaution, they decided to take the website and parts of in-store systems offline.

Despite the disruption, Victoria’s Secret and PINK retail stores remain open.

The company has not shared details about what kind of security issue occurred or when it started. Based in Ohio, Victoria’s Secret operates about 1,350 stores in 70 countries.

Following the news, the company’s stock fell by around 7%, closing at $20.99 on Wednesday.
