The accused – identified as Damiyen Malo, 20; Arjun Vimal Roy, 25; and Daniel Atkinson, 44 – appeared in court on Friday, May 16. All face serious charges related to child luring and possession of child pornography.
Case TB24046088: Damiyen Malo Arrested for Child Luring and Possession
In the first case, police began investigating after receiving reports of an adult male engaging in inappropriate communication with a female youth via social media. The suspect allegedly sent and solicited explicit images. On May 15, 20-year-old Damiyen Malo of Thunder Bay was arrested and charged with:
• Luring a Child
• Possession of Child Pornography
• Making Sexually Explicit Material Available to a Child
Case TB24029537: Arjun Vimal Roy Faces Multiple Child Pornography Charges
The second investigation began after TBPS received intelligence regarding an internet user sharing child sexual abuse material. A February 27 search warrant led to the seizure of several electronic devices, which revealed that the suspect had also solicited nude images from minors.
On May 16, Arjun Vimal Roy, 25, voluntarily turned himself in. He now faces the following charges:
• Luring a Child
• Possession of Child Pornography
• Accessing Child Pornography
• Distributing Child Pornography
Case TB25011496: Daniel Atkinson Charged with Possession and Distribution
In the third case, a separate tip led the Cyber Crime Unit to execute a search warrant on April 22, seizing multiple devices. After a detailed forensic analysis, Daniel Atkinson, 44, turned himself in on May 16. He has been charged with:
• Possession of Child Pornography
• Accessing Child Pornography
• Distributing Child Pornography
Police Encourage Community to Report Suspected Online Exploitation
