Swimming Coach Arrested for Uploading Obscene Video of Woman Doctor

A 39-year-old swimming coach has been arrested by the city police for allegedly uploading an obscene video of a woman doctor on social media after she rejected his marriage proposal.

The victim, a 30-year-old post-graduate medical student from a local medical college, became acquainted with the suspect during her swimming sessions. Initially, the two developed a friendship, but over time, the accused began expressing romantic feelings for her. Despite her clear rejection, the coach continued to pursue her and repeatedly asked her to marry him.

In a disturbing turn of events, the suspect reportedly created a fake Instagram profile and uploaded an explicit video of the victim, aiming to damage her reputation. The victim, deeply upset by this violation of her privacy, immediately filed a complaint with the Rajamangalam police.

Following the complaint, the police registered a case and arrested P. Balaji, the suspect from Triplican. Authorities also seized three mobile phones from him during the investigation. Balaji was later remanded to judicial custody after being presented in court.

The police are continuing their investigation to uncover further details regarding the suspect’s activities. This incident has once again raised concerns about the misuse of social media for harassment and cybercrime.

The authorities urge citizens to remain cautious while using social media and report any such violations to ensure swift legal action.
