In its official statement, the EOU cautioned that fraudsters are actively trying to mislead aspirants by offering fake question papers and answer sheets in exchange for money. These criminals are using social media platforms and phone calls to spread false information and cheat candidates.
“There is an apprehension that anti-social elements or cyber fraudsters may try to break the integrity of the examination through rumours on social media platforms,” the advisory stated. Authorities have urged the public to stay alert and report any suspicious messages, calls, or offers to the police immediately.
The EOU has also warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found involved in such fraudulent activities. “Those found guilty of engaging in such activities will face severe consequences, including criminal proceedings,” the statement added.
The advisory comes at a time when several paper leak cases have raised concerns across the country. Last month, the EOU arrested Sanjeev Kumar Singh alias Sanjeev Mukhiya, the alleged mastermind behind the NEET UG 2024 paper leak. He is also accused in other major examination paper leaks, including the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) Teacher Recruitment Exam and various recruitment exams in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, and Rajasthan.
Officials revealed that Mukhiya’s gang operated across multiple states and was involved in leaking papers for several government recruitment exams, including those for veterinary doctors and English teachers in Haryana.
Meanwhile, the Rajasthan Police has also issued a similar alert to NEET UG 2025 candidates, urging them not to fall for scams related to fake paper leaks ahead of the May 4 exam.
Authorities across states have asked students and parents to remain cautious, avoid dealing with unknown individuals or agencies, and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement agencies immediately.
NEET UG 2025 is scheduled for Sunday, May 4, and will be conducted across various centers in India for admission to undergraduate medical courses.
